This - exactly this. We use AutoElevate on our own dev machines and some of the installers break if we forget to switch to Technician mode first because the elevated action is aborted the moment it switches out of UAC and it fails on the rerun if your approve it.
We'd like to be able to set specific machines as don't timeout of UAC. If you include the technician mode QR code on the UAC prompt if auto rules didn't apply then we can scan the code on the phone, switch on technician mode which would immediately update the UI with the technician mode options allowing us to continue with the install, all without leaving UAC window.

Bob Vale: Thanks Bob, that's a useful real-world case. You're right that there isn't a good way to recover today once the prompt is already up and nobody switched modes first. Being able to bring up Technician Mode from the open prompt without restarting the install, and keeping the prompt up on specific machines, are both noted alongside the rest of this request. No timeline yet.

I'd love to see a mode between Policy and Live, wherein the UAC prompt is not automatically dismissed, the overlay is loaded with its beneficial analysis, and the user/admin has the option to submit a request, enter admin credentials, or if already an admin, simply click Yes/No.

Thanks Matt and Todd. This is something we're looking at: letting the UAC prompt stay up so a user can enter their own Administrator credentials instead of AutoElevate dismissing it, while still having the option to submit a request. Who would get that option is still being worked out, so there's no timeline yet.
Two things that cover part of this today: Policy mode applies your rules and otherwise shows the standard Windows UAC prompt, and Technician Bypass Mode lets a technician work with UAC directly without AutoElevate applying rules: https://support.cyberfox.com/technician-mode/360026264092-Technician-Bypass-Mode-Technician-Mode-Authentication-Setting

It would be great to have a "Policy with UAC" mode, or just replace the current "Policy" mode to have this. This would be a better experience before going full Live mode.

Or change Policy to load the overlay with an option to submit a request
